A Dallas family lost everything they had in an overnight house fire Sunday, including several dogs.
Dallas Fire-Rescue was called to the 4900-block of Gurley Avenue at about midnight. When they arrived, fire was spotted coming out of the back of the home.
The family, who had several pets, said they lost everything inside the home including an untold number of dogs. Not all of the dogs died in the fire however, some were found to have escaped the fire and were located elsewhere in the neighborhood.
Several people were inside the home when the fire started, but they were able to make it out OK. The family plans to stay with relatives and is receiving some assistance from the Red Cross.
So far, officials have not said what started the fire.
