Two MedStar first responders saved a woman from a fiery rollover crash early Thursday morning.
Kayden Bathory and Robert Long of MedStar arrived to the scene of a burning, rolled over vehicle on West Freeway at Chapel Creek Boulevard in Fort Worth.
The pair was first on scene to the crash and used a fire extinguisher to temporarily fight the fire and pull the woman from out of the burning vehicle.
As the pair dragged the woman out, the fuel tank ignited and the vehicle exploded.
Both of the first responders received flash burns, but were able to get the patient to a stable condition for transport by CareFlite to an area burn center.
The victim of the crash suffered serious burns and is in critical condition, according to MedStar.
Bathory and Long will be formally recognized for their actions by MedStar in the near future, according to a press release.
Fort Worth Police and Fire Departments also responded to the crash. Fort Worth firefighters were able to extinguish the vehicle fire around 1 a.m.
