A bit of Latin music and dance kept the crowds entertained at the Viva Dallas Expo Saturday at the Dallas Market Hall.

At the heart of the expo -- small businesses.

This is the first year that attorney Jasmit Dhaliwal-Perez has a booth at the expo offering legal help to the Latino community.

"There's been a lot of problem with "notarios" -- people who claim their attorneys when they're not--and there's a need for community outreach and education," Dhaliwal-Perez said.

The Dallas/Fort-Worth area is home to more than 1.7 million Hispanics, making it the 6th largest Hispanic population in the U.S.

To celebrate this special milestone there were nearly 200 exhibitors on hand at this year's expo.

"Given that we bring a small piece of Latina America to the heart of Dallas, this is a good event for us," said Carlos Branger, owner of Dallas' Zaguán.

NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 were proud co-sponsors of the "Viva Dallas Expo."
